Ceramic Teapots, Gongfu to Western
Wholesale ceramic teapots in porcelain and celadon-glaze bodies — gongfu pourers from 150 ml and western pots to 1200 ml, with drip-free pouring checked per batch and stock lines from 500 pieces.
A teapot is judged by its pour.
Capacity charts sell teapots; the pour keeps them sold. Spout geometry, lid fit and balance are checked on golden samples before mass production, and again per batch.
Bodies and routes. High-fired porcelain (1280–1380°C) for thin-walled gongfu pots that season fast and pour clean; celadon (yingqing) glaze for the collectible look tea brands ask for; hand-painted porcelain for gift retail. Underglaze decoration keeps color sealed beneath the glaze with structurally lower lead and cadmium migration risk.
Formats. Gongfu teapots typically run 150–300 ml for tight leaf-to-water ratios; western teapots run 600–1200 ml for table service. Infuser and filter options are quoted per SKU, and stovetop or direct-heat suitability is stated per body and glaze — never assumed.
Who buys them. Tea brands build gongfu programs at stock MOQ; gift and lifestyle retailers take hand-painted western pots; hotels spec porcelain pots for afternoon service with replacement buffers.

MOQs are typical for stock lines; custom spout or mold development typically runs 1000–3000 pcs per item. Final MOQ is confirmed per SKU in your quote.
What to settle before you compare prices.
- Pour first, price second. Drip-free pouring is checked per batch, and spout geometry is agreed on the golden sample — the cheapest moment to fix a spout is before the mold runs.
- Capacity to match the ritual. Gongfu service works at 150–300 ml; western table service at 600–1200 ml (typical). Capacity is charted in ml per SKU, lid included or excluded, stated.
- Pot limits. FDA 21 CFR 109.16 applies the cup-and-pot values (Pb 0.5 µg/mL lead; Cd 0.25 µg/mL enforcement guidance); EC 84/500/EEC container limits apply for the EU. Test reports available on request.
- Spouts break first. Teapots pack with individual wrap, lid separated and cushioned, in five-layer cartons with drop-test discipline — spouts are the first thing bad packaging costs you.

Questions buyers ask about teapots.
How do you make sure the teapot does not drip?+
Spout geometry is agreed on the golden sample, then drip-free pouring is checked per production batch. If a glaze or body change affects the pour, it is re-checked before shipment, not after your customer reviews.
Can teapots go on the stove or direct heat?+
It depends on the body and glaze, and we state it per SKU rather than assume it. Standard porcelain and celadon-glaze teapots are for infusion brewing; direct-heat suitability is quoted explicitly where a body supports it.
What capacity should a first program start with?+
Gongfu programs typically start at 150–300 ml and western programs at 600–1200 ml (typical). Both run at 500 pcs per item on stock lines; a new mold or spout typically moves the MOQ to 1000–3000 pcs.
